Travel terms

The organisers of the trips are our partners. Their travel terms apply to your booking – the links are in section 1. This page only contains supplementary rules on what Soaring Perfection provides: what Kai delivers in the training, what you need to bring and what applies with wind, weather and in an emergency.

1. Organisers

Soaring Perfection is neither a tour operator nor a travel agent. The training weeks, camps and tours are organised by our partners. Your travel contract is concluded exclusively with the organiser of the respective date – which one that is, is stated with each date.

Price, what's included, payment, cancellation, travel insurance and the organiser's liability are governed solely by the organiser's travel terms. In case of contradictions between these pages and the organiser's terms, the organiser's terms apply to the travel contract.

2. What Soaring Perfection provides

Kai Kessler runs the week's training as flight instructor on behalf of the organiser. The training is part of the package you book with the organiser; Soaring Perfection does not charge you anything separately for it.

The training includes: a daily meteo briefing and theory, groundhandling, soaring with launch and landing training and personal coaching, plus video analysis of the day's flights with feedback. There are no fixed times – the wind sets the pace.

Not included in the training are travel to and from the camp, accommodation and meals, gear, insurance, licences and local transfers, unless the organiser offers otherwise.

3. Registration and conclusion of contract

Booking is done exclusively with the organiser via their website or office. Your place is only secured once the organiser has confirmed it.

The form “Before you go to the organiser” on our website is neither a booking nor a reservation. It only serves so that Kai can get in touch with you before your week. “Pre-register” and “Enquire” are also non-binding – for you and for us. We don't reserve a place with them.

4. Payment

You pay the travel price to the organiser according to their terms (deposit, balance, due dates). Soaring Perfection does not accept payments and does not issue invoices for the training weeks. You can find the current price on the organiser's booking page.

5. Cancellation and rebooking

Cancellation, rebooking and the costs involved are governed by the organiser's travel terms. Contact the organiser directly for this; a message to us does not replace the declaration to the organiser. We recommend travel cancellation insurance.

If Kai is unavailable, for example due to illness, the organiser's rules apply. If a date is cancelled for lack of participants, the organiser's rules on minimum numbers apply.

6. Weather and flying operations

Flying depends on the wind. Whether, when, where and who flies is decided by the flight instructor on site – solely based on safety, never on the programme. We cannot guarantee a certain number of flights or flying hours. If the wind isn't right, we train groundhandling, do theory or move to a plan-B spot.

Flying days lost to weather give no entitlement to a price reduction or refund, unless the organiser's travel terms provide otherwise.

The flight instructor's instructions are binding during training. Anyone who doesn't follow them, turns up with unsuitable or unchecked gear, or wants to fly under the influence of alcohol, drugs or impairing medication can be excluded from flying for the day or for the rest of the week. This does not give rise to any entitlement to a refund, unless the organiser provides otherwise.

7. Requirements and health

You need at least an A licence or an equivalent licence and must be able to launch and land independently. The DHV issues the licence from the age of 16; young people take part with the written permission of their legal guardians or accompanied by them. You must bring complete, checked gear including a reserve parachute and a PMR radio; a vario or GPS is recommended. For the camps abroad you need the IPPI card and proof of insurance. The organisers specify a body weight of 45 to 115 kg; outside that range, by prior arrangement.

By taking part you confirm that you are physically fit and have no illness, injury or limitation that puts you at risk when flying. Please let Kai know in advance if there is anything he should know – for example medication, a pregnancy or a recent injury. This information stays confidential.

As a licensed pilot you remain responsible for every flying decision yourself. The training supports you in this but does not replace your own judgement. Not sure whether the training is right for you? Ask us beforehand.

8. Insurance

Valid third-party liability insurance for your paraglider or Parakite that applies in the country of the camp (for example via the DHV or your national association) is mandatory. Bring proof of it with you.

Strongly recommended: accident insurance that covers air sports, travel health insurance with repatriation, and travel cancellation insurance. Neither the organiser nor Soaring Perfection replaces these insurances for you.

9. Liability

Paragliding is a risk sport. Despite all care taken in training, a residual risk remains, which you as a licensed pilot know and consciously accept. You remain responsible for every flying decision yourself (section 7).

The organiser's liability is governed by their travel terms and travel law. There is no separate liability rule by Soaring Perfection, because your contract is with the organiser.

10. Photos and videos during training

During training we film launches, landings and flights for the video analysis in the evening. These recordings are for the group and are not published.

For photos and videos on our website, in posts or on social media, we ask you beforehand and record your consent. You can refuse or withdraw it at any time without it affecting the training.

11. Training content on this website

The rules, deep dives, the dune simulator and the gull game on this website describe content of our supervised training. They are not a guide for trying things out on your own and replace neither flight training nor the briefing on site. We accept no liability for damage resulting from copying them on your own.

12. Final provisions

German law applies to these supplementary rules. If you are a consumer, mandatory provisions of the country in which you live remain unaffected. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid.
