Pizza, bunker, gulls

Over winter and spring I wasn't on the wing all that much. Even so, I developed a lot. The little I did had an incredible effect. And that totally paid off in June.

It was the first time I had real joy, motivation and ambition to try new things. When we arrived at a new flying site, I listened to the briefing, had a look at it myself and simply said: Hey, let's go.

The uncertainty hasn't completely gone. At 30 km/h or just over, I still unpack the wing a little unsurely. But as soon as I have it in my hands and notice: wow, I can do all this, it evaporates. Then off I go. And then I really just have fun.

I also flew ahead alone once. From the home spot all the way up to Hvide Sande City, pizza there, back into the dune at the top, back to the southern bunker and soaring back and forth there.

And for the first time right in the middle of a huge flock of gulls. These birds have an unbelievable wingspan. When you suddenly find yourself in the middle of them with your paraglider, it's an intense feeling.

By now I'm so deeply relaxed when inflating that sometimes light wind is too little for me. Then I have to create more action myself. There's still room for me to adapt there. With lots of wind it's somehow much easier.

How much I have developed from one time to the next, I can see especially clearly in Denmark. Precisely because of the breaks in between.
