SPT Wijk aan Zee: Mainland Season Finale 2026, Lanzarote Calling

The last S.P.T. training week of this season on the mainland is under way – Wijk course goes Zoutelande – preparations for Lanzarote

We're currently in the last S.P.T. week on the mainland in Wijk aan Zee. We went straight out on Sunday evening “to get to know each other” and started training. Since then we've been in the sand every day and the crew is coming on brilliantly: the tension goes, the motor skills get finer, the wing does what it's supposed to do – no matter whether it's a big or a small wing😎💯😍🤘 “Relaaaaaax”…

Day trip to Zoutelande

Yesterday's forecast prompted me to set off on the two-hour drive to Zoutelande with the motivated course… And lo and behold – it was glorious: everyone flew! The dune in Zoutelande is good enough for your first big soaring experiences of several hours. The requirement is that you've mastered a launch technique that lets you launch safely in the compression. And that's exactly what we had trained intensively the day before…😎🤘💯😍🥵

Today we're back in Wijk – and lo and behold: ALL of them “Kai-te” into the dune and get airborne!! Awesome, people💯🤘😎🥵😍 Job done…

A personal highlight for me here in Wijk was the visit from my former colleague Basir – I'm really pleased that we're back in touch and are now building on that again.

Lanzarote calling

Apart from that, we're packing for the trip to the island: we're off to Lanzarote again, to our “home”😍💯🤘😎 The first course weeks announced are already filling up nicely. Once again you can expect small course groups and small wings for training in wind, lots of family & friends support, our homely Casa La Costa gets another upgrade, and my valued colleagues Holger, Heli and Reini are on board again😍😎🤘💯

We're looking forward to all of it and will then start Kai's island blog again on the trip, because people have already asked several times whether I'd do it again – of course I will💯🤘😍😎😘 I feel honoured…
