· by Kai Kessler

First course week under way: flying twice a day at two flying sites each since the course began, tonight maybe already Risco de Famara 😍😎💯, Mike Küng is coming to us with “Mike Küng Parakites” 🤘💯😎😍

Monday: Hike & fly at Mala, surprise at the Pechos

The first course week is under way. And it's going well: on Monday we headed straight to Mala with the course in the morning. The crew was highly motivated for soaring… arriving at Mala – hardly any wind from the east… Hmmm… so: up to the east launch site! Hike & fly at 27 degrees and plenty of sun… 😍🤘💯😎🤷 The crew was rewarded with a flight in gentle thermals… OK – nice start. After tasty tapas in Arrieta the journey continued to El Cuchillo. At least that was my plan… On the way there the island surprised us with NW wind and we spontaneously turned off to the Pechos… muy bien and perfect for us 😎💯🤘

Tuesday: Soaring at Mala, sunset at El Cuchillo

Day two: Mala again, this time with more wind, and from the main launch site it was straight into soaring! ¡Muy bien! 💯🤘😎😍 In the evening, soaring at El Cuchillo in the sunset – awesome…

Wednesday: Macher almost to ourselves, evening training at the Pechos

Yesterday morning hours of flying at Macher… Almost nobody there but us… Really awesome!

And last night: training at the Pechos in perfect conditions with light wind…

Thursday: In the clouds on Las Nieves

This morning the forecast promised our beloved “jump off the cliff at Las Nieves”… Highly motivated, we had to realise after arriving there that we were in the clouds… 😂😎🤷 But now: right now it looks like flying and evening soaring along the entire Famara ridge… 💯🤘😎😍 We'll report back…

Other than that, we've properly settled in here again and it already feels like home again at the Casa La Costa…

Our news

Heli is joining us on the island from next week and I'm looking forward to our weeks together here!

By the next pilots' mail we'll have fixed the weeks with Holger and Reini for this winter: we'll adjust the Papillon Lanzarote listings accordingly so you know who's “wearing the hat” here when… 😎🤘💯

Another highlight: Mike Küng has announced he's coming and is bringing his “MK-Parakites” to the island!!! 💯😍🤘😎 I'm hugely looking forward to seeing you, Mike, and to working with you, and I'm really curious about the “MK wings”… 💯😍🤘😎

That's the update from the island… We're now off to (hopefully) fly the “hologram” Risco de Famara…

¡Saludos y hasta la próxima semana, chicos!

Kai and Team 😍🤘😎💯😘
