Successful start to the Lanzarote winter block with looots of airtime!
· by Kai Kessler
¡Hola de la Isla de Lanzarote! The first course week of this year's winter season on Lanzarote is done. We had a very successful week with looooots of airtime!
There were about 12 hours of paragliding flight time this week. One of the days was “mucho viento”, so we got to keep ourselves busy with small wings on the beach at Mala…
Mostly we were at Orzola – 600 metres above the Atlantic… we also went soaring in the laminar sea breeze at Mala and Tenesar, and had a look at El Cuchillo. Many thanks also to Achim, Christiane and Michael for playing “taxi” and to Naser for the belly dance – you were absolutely brilliant!
Our villa survived the first week well and got us through the week nicely. Our first Spanish evening with our new house cook Maite was an absolute hit: freshly homemade tapas, paella, mojo sauces, papas, prawns – incredible! By popular demand we'll now do that every week – gladly 😋😎😍 Many thanks to my great “crew” from last week! I had a huge amount of fun with you!!! Thanks for that too. The tips for improving the villa have almost all been put into practice straight away.
“Unfortunately” the 28 km long and up to 650-metre-high “Risco de Famara” only starts flying from today!!! But some of you are coming back anyway.
Uli and I are going to try out the Risco tomorrow with our “house Swabian” Gerry… I hope I can deliver some fitting pictures – we're very much looking forward to the next few days here and will report in the next pilots' mail!
Other than that, we're ready for Papillon week 2 in the pilots' paradise Lanzarote. Marc will surely be happy to put the pictures of the week online for you – many thanks to you too, Marc, for making all this possible every week!
So then – off to Teguise to our launch site and then hopefully along the entire Risco to Orzola and back… Fingers crossed 🤞
¡Saludos! Kai and Team 😎🤘
