¡Hola de la isla de Lanzarote Amigos! The third week is already half over… Crazy – BUT: there's still another half left! 😎🤘💯 This week, too, was and IS once again mega good, successful and beautiful…
On arrival day we headed straight out in the evening – maybe we could go flying right away?!?🤷 Besides, the last participant arrived pretty much at sunset and the way home took us more or less past the aeropuerto… so we had a look at the flying sites in Macher and Playa Quemada. Unfortunately not from the air…
But the forecast for this week made it clear that we'd be there. On Monday morning we flew straight down from Macher. At the launch site there was “a bit of wind”… no problem – we'll show you how to do it “properly” “in this wind”… First fly down, then get the basic briefing on how launch preparation and wing control are supposed to work when pulling up and once it's overhead or wherever it is😎…
Let's call it “techniques and behaviour in wind” – which I already presented as a specialist talk in Lüsen this year, because teaching the right techniques for exactly this is our speciality. A short break at lunchtime for a “cortado leche leche”, then training… 2 hours… the wind turned more to WSW and my gut told me “drive all the way up with the crew!”…
Las Nieves, wind straight in, one hour until sunset: Let's go! The 600 m “glide down” to the beach of Famara😍💯 EVERYONE flew, with soaring at the cliff of Las Nieves beforehand!😎🤘💯 great landing approaches, everyone had a mega flight, everyone blown away and happy on day one… ¡muy bien!
Our evening round in the villa: “How was your day?” Obvious how this day was… 😎 On we go with groundhandling and flying in Mala and Macher…
Last night another highlight – “zero-wind reverse thermals” in Macher… and that after soaring the slope there… ¡Vamos! Launch, point the wing towards the coast of Puerto Calero, let go of everything and enjoy the view and the sunset 🤘💯😎😍
“Can I stay with you a few days longer instead of flying home on Sunday, please?!? ¡Si claro!
Today it's handling first, then probably flying in Playa Quemada and in the afternoon hopefully in Macher like yesterday… Today Annalena is out with the crew and we have two brilliant Austrian pilot friends with us – great to have you here, Robert and Sebi!😎🤘💯After flying it's off to the villa – “Maite evening”! Our cook is coming and will once again make the best tapas in the country! 😍
The forecast for the week looks great again. The progress of the participants is obvious – above all to the pilots themselves… so all is well with us here! 😎🤘💯
