¡Hola de la isla de Lanzarote amigos!
First of all, the end of the last course week: We were still able to fly nicely, as forecast. Saturday morning brought the highlights: the 600-metre glide-down from Las Nieves to the surfers' beach at Caleta de Famara, and then playing, flying, soaring in our beloved playground at the Pechos… 💯😎🤘 after that the weather god said “Now there'll be a small front!” with the matching side effects… But we were out with the wings every day of the week and got a hefty dose of progress – so all good!
Sunday was arrival day for the new crew again. As everyone arrived early, we were able to hold our first meeting by the pool of Casa La Costa at 4 pm and then jump straight into our flying clothes to get the basic briefing for the first training session in Tenesar. And then it was straight into 1.5 hours of action with the small wings!
Monday was Mala day. It was good flying from morning until afternoon. Partly again with the little cross-country hop down to the beach at Arrieta😎💯🤘😍
Since Monday evening we've been in handling mode! The crew wants training and confidence in handling and at launch… “I'm here 80% for the training on the wing and want to take what I've newly learnt back home!”… all right – ¡vamos! 🤘💯😍😎
This morning we're on the beach at Arrieta: consolidating everything newly learnt with the small wings, adding a few fun new running and movement exercises, then the same with everyone's own wing… After that a few gambas al ajillo and then up to Mala for flying… ¡muy bien!
The next few days promise great flying conditions again, so this week is once again turning into a hugely successful experience for all of us… That's exactly how it can and should carry on!
