Paraglider jumps in Las Nieves and lots of emotions
· by Kai Kessler
¡Buenos días de la isla de Lanzarote amigos! 😎
In the only course-free week in January, the plan was to go flying myself for once… We have good holiday weather with 24 degrees during the day and 19 degrees at night, sunshine every day and everything is great. We can also unpack the wings every day and even go flying, even though the current south-westerly/southerly flow doesn't allow for hours of soaring flights… But maybe today: the wind is supposed to turn to the west later on, and then we're off to Famara again…
Yesterday I “jumped” off Las Nieves twice with a few pilot friends and my dear colleague Annalena – and that in the truest sense of the word, because it's a 600-metre cliff launch followed by an extended glide-down in absolutely calm air until landing at the surfers' beach of Famara 😍💯😎🤘 That's where my photos of the week were taken.
And today? Let's see what's on offer – we're confident that later on we'll kite up our “dune” at the landing field and fly the first 8 km ahead to Famara. And who knows – maybe we can even fly into the Risco de Famara and see how far we can fly the following 20 km to the northern tip… I'll definitely report on it next week… 💯😍🤘
Other than that, we hope you're getting through the winter well and haven't sunk into the snow chaos. Stay brave, and thanks for the many great responses to my course weeks here and to “Kai's island blog” too!!! That really feels good and is lovely to hear / to read!!! Many thanks for that and YEEEEES – I'll happily keep going!!!💯😍
There's still one place left in the last week of this year's Lanzarote season – everything else was and is fully booked😳🤷😍💯🤘 many thanks for that!!!! And thank you thank you thank you for your feedback right after the course weeks here and for your “long-term effects” and successes afterwards with my handling, launch and training methods and explanations! We'll keep going!
The first registrations for the next Lanzarote season in autumn are already coming in too – iiiincredible!!! We're really mega happy and very grateful, because you make all of this possible and it's just as much fun…
All in all, a very emotional island blog today… Right, and now Annalena and I are going to take our Papillon wings out for a walk in Famara…
¡Hasta pronto amigos!
Kai and team 😎💯🤘😍
