Great start to the season on the island

Lanzarote 2024

¡Buenas tardes de la isla de Lanzarote amigos!😎

The first week came to a wonderful end: we were treated to one more wonderful sundowner and had the chance to fly from the launch site in Macher in incredible reverse thermals towards Puerto Calero… That was really great and happens rather rarely – so we made the most of it straight away 🤘💯😍 All participants had great flights and took plenty of new input on our techniques home with them…

On arrival and departure day we went flying in Mala again in the morning with those leaving later, and with the new arrivals we headed straight out to the beach in Tenesar in the evening for handling: straight off the plane and onto the wing…

On Monday we trained with the small wings in “Annalena's sandpit” on the coast of Famara – 45 km/h of wind! Wow! Well, we'll show you how THAT works… 😎😂🤷🤘💯

Our “crew” made tremendous progress! Next up was several hours of flying in Tenesar – and we were very happy to make the most of that too…

Yesterday morning we had a few km/h too little in Tenesar, so we decided to train the soaring technique in the simulator and to go over the harness settings once more. After that we went to our “playground”, the Pechos.

NW wind: the Risco de Famara was on the programme… 😍🤘💯 and lo and behold – it was flying!!! And we have a new B-licence pilot. Thorsten delivered his cross-country flight at the Risco – not everyone can say that😎😂 Congratulations!

Annalena flew along as guide while I stayed at the Pechos with the rest of the crew. Our focus there was on wing control and handling. The area lends itself to extensive training: put the wing up again and again, stabilise it, handle it up or kite it in, fly out, and then the whole thing all over again… ¡muy bien! 😎💯🤘😍

Today even a few showers are passing through here and we're taking a break until the afternoon. The first drops of rain since our arrival… For 2 1/2 weeks we've been out with the wings every day but one, training and/or flying. The forecast promises “Pechos” again for later and tomorrow…

We're looking forward to it and will get to work rested and motivated… the first participants for the coming week are arriving today as well. We're looking forward to seeing you! And those who had to leave with a heavy heart have for the most part already decided to come back in the next few weeks – that's really fantastic!!!

Thanks also to everyone who'd like to join us! I'm always happy to answer your questions, and ASAP! Well then – let's see what today and the next few days bring – we'll of course keep reporting to you every week!

¡Saludos y hasta pronto!
