¡Hola de la isla de Lanzarote!
The motto of the week here: “Wind on and wind off!” – Once again we've landed in an easterly/south-easterly week 🤦🤷
So far there's been one evening soaring session in Mala on Monday. On the other days we trained on the ground and drove around the island in the afternoons – the search for flying options was really difficult because of the wind…
However – according to the forecasts, improvement is in sight: the next two days are forecast weaker and the direction is a good one for us… so we're in good spirits…
Right now we're sitting in Playa Quemada watching a few wings in the air – some of them with zero forward speed or going backwards… it's simply too much… we're hoping for later. Even though the Risco de Famara unfortunately didn't work out last week, we're getting good, effective training here and still have over 20 degrees, sunshine and delicious food – we won't let anything spoil the mood… 😎🤘💯😍
Let's see what else happens today and over the next few days – and hope the forecasts are right and we get a few more flying hours before a new team trains next week and hopefully flies well… By the way, thanks to my friends and all the helpers, local pilots and tandems and the familiar faces here – thank you for being such an incredibly great family and community here – it's real fun!
¡Hasta pronto! Kai and team 😎🤘💯😍
